about

After ten years of producing art projects and events, I’m still curious about my role. I am really drawn to socially-engaged practice, which tends to focus on people and process rather than final outcomes (but these are really important to me too).

To help deliver projects and problem-solve in effective and ethical ways, a big part of my role is making sure that everyone involved feels supported. Humour and care are crucial in my working practice. I believe in kettle chats and writing notes to people when you see them on the same Google doc.

I've worked on programmes, festivals and partnerships with great cultural organisations including Estuary Festival, Royal Opera House, English PEN, TOMA (The Other MA), The WOW Foundation, Focal Point Gallery and Essex Book Festival as well as organisations from wider sectors including Network Rail, Vodafone and BLESMA.

I've worked extensively with national arts organisation Metal and continue to collaborate with their brilliant teams. Through Metal, I have benefitted from fantastic training from organisations like Talawa, Julie's Bicycle and Artsmark.

After studying Fine Art (BA Hons) at Nottingham Trent University, I later did some more learning (and unlearning) with alternative art school TOMA (The Other MA).

I live in my hometown of Southend on Sea, Essex. My work is heavily iinformed by the creative community of our seaside town.
