After ten years of producing art projects and events, I’m still curious about my role. I tend to be drawn to work which focuses on people and process rather than final outcomes (but these are really important to me too). I have an ongoing interest in residency programmes, where artists can focus on their creativity and connections without day to day distractions.
To help deliver projects and problem-solve in effective and ethical ways, a big part of my role is making sure that everyone involved feels supported. Humour and kettle chats are crucial to my working practice.
I've worked on programmes, festivals and partnerships with great cultural organisations including Estuary Festival, Royal Opera House, English PEN, TOMA (The Other MA), The WOW Foundation, Focal Point Gallery, theCOLAB, Nottingham Playhouse and Essex Book Festival as well as organisations from wider sectors including Network Rail, Vodafone and BLESMA.
I've worked extensively with national arts organisation Metal and continue to collaborate with their brilliant teams. Through Metal, I've benefitted from fantastic training from organisations like Talawa, Julie's Bicycle and Artswork.
I studied Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University and was part of TOMA (The Other MA)’s 2019-2021 cohort. I live in my hometown of Southend on Sea in Essex. My work is heavily informed by the landscape and creative community of our seaside city.
